Catching up

The one thing about using a watch to track all your workouts is making sure that you remember to have watch, cable and cradle in the same location in order to get the workouts off the watch and on to the computer to use in some fashion.

I happen to have the problem of not having those close at all and just caught myself up yesterday by adding 15 workouts to my Garmin connect account and my Dailymile profile.

I'm still figuring out the best method to track workouts and nutrition.  Currently I'm using Dailymile and Dailyburn.  Now, since I'm taken on the role of Beachbody Coach, I also have those tools to use in order to keep track of things and plan my workouts.  The nice thing about using the Beachbody website is that if your using one of the workout programs they offer, you can just select that workout program and the entire program gets put on your calendar!  Easy.

I'm off to do more work on my site and try to get it up and running in some usable fashion.

Android Honeycomb

So I just watched a video on the Endgadget website of the Google Android event and I must say, I'll have to look at the pricing for the Motorola Xoom.  The features and functionality of this system are pretty cool. Check it out.

Droid App - LauncherPro

Along with many others I switched to the Motorola Droid phone and I must say, coming from an iPhone, it's a great phone.  Just like any other technology, more phones came out that are faster, have a better display etc. but I'm just going to wait for the next year and see how the phones play out.

One application that I looked for when I first got the phone was one that would modify the layout and interaction of the display.  I looked at different applications that you could add themes to allowing you to change the total look and feel of the layout.  It would change the background, the shortcuts and add different functionality.  Some of the applications that I tried did have a fee associated with them, well, all but one.  The one that didn't, is the one that I have stuck with ever since.  LauncherPro.

The basic version is free and you do get some great features.  The other option is getting the Pro version to add a little more functionality to the display.  After using the basic version for a while I did upgrade, not only to get the added functions that were being developed, but also to support the developer.  Not many people take a moment to think that there is someone on the other end of the application putting their own time into these apps that we then download and use.

So I happen to see this article on ZDNet, and since I'm looking through Google filtered glasses these days, I thought I'd check it out.

Like the author, I too was one that jumped on the AppleTV-wagon back in the day, also like the author, the luster has worn off for me as well.  I was once an iPhone-AppleTV-MobileMe junky like many are, but now I'm an Android-Google-Cloud junky, also like many are.

AppleTV was great when I first got it, not only could I play movies and shows, but I finally had a means to play my music through my home theatre!

Google TV will be one of those products that I see in our house at some point after it comes out.  First generation?  Most likely not.
